I had the opportunity recently to head out to the local nude beach and expose a few rolls of film with a model passing through Oregon on her way to Seattle. It was a great photoshoot, especially considering the fact that it was raining for most of the afternoon.
This particular image was made when we got a break in the weather for about ten minutes. I’m not kidding when I say we breezed through about three rolls of film in a very short period of time knowing full well that the rain would more than likely start up again in force. Sometimes photoshoots are the best when working under less than ideal circumstances.
The backdrop of this image is an old boat washed up on the beach that has been sitting landlocked for a couple of decades now at least. It’s become a bit of a canvas for people who want to put a little color out in the world and I sort of feel like I didn’t do it proper justice making this photograph in black and white. It was the only type of film I had on me though and I still think it makes a nice backdrop.
