It’s a long and lazy weekend for me, which basically means I’m sitting at home and developing long overdue rolls of film. That seems to be my life more often than not these days, which is perfectly fine by me.
This image was made with Devi, an absolutely wonderful model that I was fortunate enough to work with a few times in 2019. So strange that just a year ago seems like an eternity at this point in time. Just the basic act of traveling from Portland to the California Bay Area would be such a hassle at this point in time.
I photographed this image with what was more or less my preferred camera/film combination for the last couple of years now. A Hasselblad 500cm and Ilford HP5 film. The space we were working in was quite small and I barely had enough room with the standard 80mm Zeiss f/2.8. You’d never know it looking at the photograph but I was backed up all the way into the corner of the room and holding the camera as close to my chest as I could to maximize the distance between myself and the model. I didn’t own any wider angle lenses at the time. In fact, it was this particular session that inspired me to start hunting for something a little wider to attach to my Hasselblad.
