Sometimes the most frustrating place to take an image is under a tree. It's a rather difficult thing to avoid here in the Pacific Northwest considering trees are every which way you can turn and tend to be the most majestic things around. The difficulty comes from the ever changing quality of light from one moment to the next. For just a few brief moments it is breathtaking and then the next moment it simply isn't.
I popped off twelve frames of this image and there is only one I truly like for this very reason. Looking at the scene through my viewfinder I could see the light changing as the sun moved across the sky. There was but one perfect moment and I'm thankful I got it.
