Sometimes it is entirely satisfying to just simply take a good portrait of a person. Raw, unfiltered, apologetic - only a picture that says, "hey I'm here" and that is about it. I like it when a photograph doesn't attempt to be anything more than that.
This image was made during a break in what was a larger photo session but it very quickly became one of my favorite images from that day for those very unassuming reasons. Honestly, looking at this makes me want to start walking up to random people on the street and just asking, "hey can I take your picture?" I've never been enough of an extroverted person to do something like that but perhaps that should change. Or perhaps that should become the very reason I should start doing it.
