I seem to be in maintenance mode the last few days. By that I mean I am keeping busy by developing rolls of film, scanning, organizing negatives, and just doing all the behind the scenes kind of things a photographer must always be doing but it just never sounds glamorous to talk about. I’m not going to deny sometimes I fantasize about having an assistant or an intern to do all this kind stuff for me but alas, I am just simply not that important in the grand scheme of things.
This photograph was made just south of San Jose in Morgan Hill California last spring. I was down there for several weeks visiting family and taking care of my Father’s house while he was out of the country. I felt a lot of good energy when doing this shoot in part because I was so thrilled it was easy to get away with working outdoors while also experiencing great weather. Camera was a Hasselblad 500cm loaded up with Kodak Tmax 400 film. I could have easily gotten away with a slower speed film on this trip but when I left home I decided to play it safe and only brought faster stock with me.
