I've been using an Olympus Trip 35 for about six months now strictly for the purposes of street photography. As per usual, I am incredibly behind on developing the film so this is the first example I've gotten around to scanning.

Sometimes I like to take the long view in my photography. In fact, there are times when I will go on downright phases where that is all I do. Taking a step back and leaving my frame with a lot of negative space on purpose.

Well, Portland just got blasted with about eighteen inches of snow (that is A LOT for us), which means I am hunkering down to hang out at home the next couple of days developing film, making prints, and catching up on photographic work.

I think one of my projects for the coming year is to figure out a way to adapt the Russian lens on my Kiev 88 (an Arsat 80mm f/2.8 for the record) onto another camera. I absolutely adore the way this piece of glass renders a portrait.

Photographing in thick forests can be a challenge at times. Lots of patches of bright light and deep shadows. Find the right spot though and things can work to your advantage real quick.

Working with the 4x5 view camera for portraits is challenging to say the least. But when the focus is achieved exactly where you want it I really like the results. The amount of depth of tone and bokeh just blows me away.
