I developed my first roll of film in my new workspace this afternoon and it felt really nice. For the first time in well...maybe ever, I have a dedicated work area for film development that isn't my kitchen. Not that there is anything wrong with working in a kitchen, obviously I've done it for years, but I feel a bit like a grown up being able to spread out my supplies and equipment and not sharing the space with the same items I would use to bake a cake.
This was photographed in Oakland several years ago in a studio owned by a close friend of mine. Maybe one day I'll take the leap and start up a studio space too. Or maybe not. Art studios have never been my true cup of tea even though I appreciate their advantages and understand why people are drawn to them. I just like getting outside too much.
