I like when I find little surprises on film. It's one of those great little things about not having an instant preview of what you are doing and just relying on your skills and faith that the image you ultimately come away with will be something interesting.
Besides the fact that this is just a straight up lovely portrait with excellent tones, grain structure, contrast, and sharpness (thank you very much...) but I was utterly shocked when I went to print it and found that I could see myself in the model's eyes. It is hard to appreciate in the scan you see here due to the fact that it is pretty small, but when I print this in the darkroom at 16x20 inches you can make out quite a bit of detail including the camera I had in my hand at the time.
I'd say that is pretty darn rad.
