Sometimes I like when a great photograph comes from the simplest of circumstances. Like in this case, some 35mm film and a basic Minolta SRT-101 camera. I wasn't even expecting to make a photograph on the day this frame was exposed, but the light looked nice and I happened to be hanging out with a friend of mine, so we took a few frames because we simply could.
I often worry that Ilford HP5 in 35mm developed in Rodinal is a bit too grainy. Images like this tend to change my mind. Yes, it is super grainy with a ton of texture but I think it works. Especially with the high contrast of this particular scene.
I've been focusing a lot on the Real Estate business as of late but I've been developing plenty of film. It's the follow through of writing blog posts and getting things posted to social media that I've been slacking on. In some ways I'm ok with that. After all, making work is the most important thing.
