Processing more film from back in the summer. Actually, I think this image is from more like three summers ago. Goes to show how up to date I am on getting film done.
I remember it was a really hot summer day when this image was made. All I had was Kodak Tmax 400 speed film on me and I had to pull it back to ISO 200 in order to get a reasonable exposure. The Mamiya only has a maximum shutter speed of 1/500 of a second and with the sun being as bright as it was I was maxed out at 1/500 and f/22. Pulling the film back a stop gave me a bit of leeway to lower the depth of field a bit.
This would have been a good time to be carrying a neutral density filter with me but alas, hindsight is 20/20 that way.
All-in-all Iām very pleased with this image. It has a nice blend of landscape and human figure which is something I typically like. As I type out this post my head keeps turning to my living room window with a bit of a longing to get outdoors and do some photography.
