I swear I do this to myself every single year. I spend the summer making a whole lot of photographs outdoors including a few rolls of color film here and there, and then when winter hits I start developing that color film which instantly makes me long for the summer again. I mean it’s hard not to when looking at the absolutely glorious colors that analogue film is capable of capturing.
This image was made in the very early morning hours which as every photographer knows is probably one of the better times to do serious work. Even in the pacific northwest, a place not exactly known for brilliant sunny days, sunlight turns the shade of warm oranges and reds to the point where even the ice cold water has an inviting glow to it.
